Am I a Writer?

I don't think i'm a writer because i'm not good at writing anything. When I try to start something in a class I usually get stuck at the first sentence. I will be stuck at it for a while and think of different was to start it. When I finally choose a way to start it, I write only a little bit. I only have one or two paragraphs written on the paper. Other times when I actually know what to write i'll be able to finish with at least a couple of sentences on the back.

  1. I agree with some things that you said Adrian everyone is a writing whether you think so or not. You just seem to struggle with the topic. Just like you said knowing what to write about you can do the essay even efficient.

  5. Adrian, I sort of think it is human nature to get stuck on the first sentence when composing work for school. We tend to overthink our ideas at times or even over focus. In other words, we focus on the microscopic part of writing instead of the big picture writing. I have found that creating a brief outline helps me with organizing my ideas and keeping the flow of the words I am writing. Ultimately, the only way I improved in my writing was from a lot of practice.

  6. I too get stuck in the beginning, sometimes I like to skip the beginning and just figure that part out last when I know what my writing is about. When I cant seem to get my thoughts together I get a scratch sheet of paper and just write my ideas down and that seems to help me start my writing.

  7. I feel the same way as you do Adrian because i have never been good at writing. For me after I get started I feel like I can write more. When I take long to start writing I tend to write less.
